Friday 26th January 2007:

Hi, we're Daniel and Liam and we are going to be keeping - trying to keep- a blog every day while we’re practising for SATS.

We started revising as soon as we got back to school from our Christmas break after the 11+. we went straight into a practice test, maths 1999, from what we can remember It wasn’t that  hard, Danny got 35, , And Liam got 38, smarty pants!

See how all the poor year 6’s are coping with the S.A.T.S.! Including us! Reporting back on Monday.

Monday 29th January 2007:

Hi it’s the terrible two, Dan and Liam, back again! Here reporting to tell you about our S.A.T.S revision. After the maths test, we did a Science test it looked easy but it was not as simple as it looked.

Liam: Dan what did you think?
Dan: Well it was okay but some of the test was quite hard but stuff I didn’t know I guessed.
Liam: Well I didn’t even finish so basically we did kind of rubbish!
Dan: Don’t you mean you did!
Liam: Oh be quiet Dan!
Dan: Sorry!

We had another science test on Friday that one was really easy.

Now let’s talk about maths! In maths we are both in Mr Stitcher’s group and for the tests I think we started on the paper in 1999 (or it was 1998 I don’t know !)so what we do is work our way up to the real S.A.T.S. We have done a couple of maths tests I don’t think they were too hard.

Well that’s all we have got for you now so study for your S.A.T.S and remember, you’ve got to go study hard and stay focused and tune in for the next addition of Dan and Liam’s S.A.T.S blog see you on Tuesday! J

Tuesday 30th January 2007:

Hi it’s only me, Liam, today because Dans in assembly. Now we have talked about science and maths so now we have to talk about English. We haven’t done much English we only did a full English test and a spelling test. I didn’t to well on the full English test and not so good on the spelling test either. So I need to practise! NOW!

Both the tests were about the same thing. Spiders! I hate spiders! So you better not jump behind me and shout SPIDERS! Ok readers!

The spelling test wasn’t like the usual ones. It’s a long piece of text with words missing and you have to spell them. We did it in the hall after we watched a Revise wise DVD. It was great - well by S.A.T.S standards! It was about all the things you can do at the end of a test to improve your writing.

The full test was really hard (really really really hard well I thought so!) it was a reading test about our eight legged friends spiders and it was split into three parts how a spider makes its web, a poem entitled Spinner and the truth behind miss Muffet. That was it!

I’m sorry guys and girls but that’s all I’ve got for you now see you on Wednesday! Bye!

Wednesday 31st January 2007:

Bonjour Today I and Dan are learning to talk French (Sack ra blur!) We just want to take a minute before we start our blog to say a massive thank you to Mr Stitcher for picking us to do the Blogs and for putting them on the H.B.J.S website. THANK YOU!

Now let’s get down to S.A.T.S! Ok let’s see we will go on to mental maths test these happen every Friday (Great I’ve got one on my Birthday in three days!!!!!) Well these tests are basically a summary of what we do in the week. So if we do fractions that week then we will have some fraction questions. But a year 6’s life is never that easy oh no! We have all the old tests so it’s a little harder. These are just a bunch of random maths questions all strung together so all of you had better start you practise before the real S.A.T.S.

Well I’ve got to go. So keep practising your S.A.T.S! Bye

Monday 5th February 2007:

Hi sorry about Friday we got a bit carried away with all the work we were doing. We did a science test. I thought it was ok what did you think Liam?

Liam: It was so simple I could have done it with my eyes closed!
Dan: Yeah right!

Now back to maths, it was the mental from 2001,
Dan: I got 18
Liam: I got 17

Then we got our final score but we’ve both forgotten, one thing I know though is that we both did really well.

Today we’re going through an English test called “built to last”, we will report on our scores tomorrow. In the test it was about a boy who finds a strange bug that eats walls and plaster. The other was about all the greatest walls in the world like the Great Wall of China and the Berlin wall.

Liam: It was really easy so I checked it about ten times so I got a bit annoyed at the end as I had too much time!!

Dan: Same here!

See you tomorrow folks

Tuesday 6th February 2007:

Hello, it’s us two again here to help you with your S.A.T.S life well not really it’s just to tell you about ours!

We did a spelling test and a writing test (hay no fair - two tests in one!) The spelling test was about the building beasts, skyscrapers. Again, it wasn’t like the spelling tests we have, it was a long piece of text with words missing, the teacher reads the words out and you have a few seconds to work out the spelling. I thought it started of quite easy but it did get a lot harder! What about you Dan?

Dan: I agree with you Liam it did start of easy then it went hard and then it got easy again.

Liam: Yeah but as soon as it got easy you had to write out a paragraph in your neatest handwriting and you can get four different marks! 0,1,2,3.

Dan: I bet I get 3 marks

Liam: Oh be quiet!!! I’ll get better than you!!!

Dan: But 3 are top marks! So HA!

Liam: So! So! Oh just be quiet!

Wednesday 7th February 2007

Hello H.B.J.S its time again for our blog, okay we haven’t done many test well gone through many so I’m going to give you some S.A.T.S tips.

Let’s get some on Science. Remember if a rock lets water pass through it is classed as permeable.

Another one is that the force that slows down moving objects is air resistance and gravity is the force that keeps us on the ground! And a lot more things as well.

Also I have got a little brain teaser ( I don’t think it is that hard!) name two permeable rocks!

Think it over and the answer will be shown tomorrow!
