Admission arrangements

Higher Bebington Junior School is a community school and the Local Authority is responsible for all admissions. The admission number is 85 children for each year group in 2018-2019.

Please find a link to the relevant section on the Wirral Borough Council website here.

Key Stage 2

All children transferring from Year 2 at Town Lane Infant School are given a place at Higher Bebington Junior School as is any child living within the catchment area.

A catchment area finder is available on the Admissions Portal website:  www.wirral.gov.uk/schooladmissions

Out of Zone Admissions

Out of zone applications can only be granted if there are vacancies therefore the Local Authority cannot always grant out of zone applications. There is an appeals procedure for parents if they are not satisfied with the Local Authority decision.

Out of Zone applications are given priority by the Local Authority in the following order:

·         children who are looked after by a Local Authority

·         children with brothers or sisters currently at the school

·         children with particular medical or social needs

·         children living nearest to the school (but out of catchment area)
