Admission Arrangements

Higher Bebington Junior School is a community school and the Local Authority is responsible for all admissions. The admission number set by the Local Authority is currently 96 children for each year group.

Please find a link to the relevant section on the Wirral Council website here.

Key Stage 2

All children transferring from Year 2 at Town Lane Infant School are given a place at Higher Bebington Junior School. If your child is not at Town Lane but you are living within the catchment area and wish to transfer here for Key Stage 2, an application must be made via the Admission Team at Wirral Council.

A catchment area finder is available on the Admissions Portal website: www.wirral.gov.uk/schooladmissions

 Out of Zone Admissions

Out of zone applications can only be granted if there are vacancies. There is an appeals procedure for parents if they are not satisfied with the Local Authority's decision.

Out of Zone applications are given priority by the Local Authority in the following order:

  • Children who are looked after by a Local Authority

  • Children with brothers or sisters currently at the school

  • Children with particular medical or social needs

  • Children living nearest to the school (but out of catchment area)

  • Further information about school admissions can be obtained from Pupil Services on 0151 666 4600
